In South Africa, a braai isn't just cooking. It's Heritage Day, it's Sunday lunch, it's the Currie Cup final with the whole street in your backyard. We started Lekker Braai because we love every part of it, except scrubbing the grid afterwards.
So we went looking for gear that makes the braai better and the clean-up faster, and we named it the way we talk. No fuss, no fancy words. Just lekker gear for lekker people.

How long does delivery take?
Delivery takes 10 to 20 days, anywhere in South Africa.
How much is delivery?
Standard delivery on Kaptein Skrop, the bundles and all orders over R750 is free. For everything else it's R100 nationwide.
Is my payment information safe?
Yes, 100%. Our whole website is protected with SSL encryption (look for the padlock in your browser), and every payment goes through Shopify's secure checkout, which meets the highest card-security standard (PCI DSS Level 1).
Your card details go straight to the payment provider. We never see or store your card number.
How do I track my order?

Will Kaptein Skrop work on my braai?
Yes. He works on standard braai grids, cast-iron grids, stainless steel and porcelain-coated gas braai grates, kettle braai grids and flat-top griddles.
Can I use him on a hot grid?
No. Always let the grid cool down first. Never use Kaptein Skrop on a hot or burning braai. He's an electric tool, and the heat can damage him.
How do I charge him?
With the included USB-C cable. It takes about 3 hours to charge fully, and the battery indicator shows how much is left. Any phone charger plug, power bank or laptop USB port works, so he's lekker for load-shedding and camping trips.
What if I don't like it, or it breaks?
You have a 7-day cooling-off period to return an unused item. Products with a defect are covered by our 6-month quality guarantee, in line with the Consumer Protection Act. See Returns & guarantee.
